Winchester: Freehold Office Building Sold
18th Century Grade II Listed Building Sold
Pullen Associates have sold the freehold of a prime city centre office building. Richard Pullen, Director of Pullen Associates, says that "the property, which is located in Parchment Street, has been sold to an owner-occupier for their own business occupation. The property is located in the heart of the city centre approx 50 yards from the pedestrianised High Street, in a mixed office, retail and residential area of the the city".
The Grade II Listed building dates from around 1700 replacing an earlier building dating back to 1550. Richard Pullen says that "the former house has been used as offices for many years and provides a combination of open plan and cellular accommodation. It retains many period features including ornate cornice plasterwork and panelled walls together with a grand staircase. There was a significant level of interest in the property reflecting the fact that buildings such as these do not become available for sale in Winchester city centre very often. The property also had planning permission for conversion back into a single dwelling house as a 5 bedroom house with a housekeeper's suite.
The 4,254 sqft office building has at least 14 car parking spaces, some of which had been let out".
